Reverting to macOS Sequoia after Tahoe Installation
If you upgraded your 2019 iMac to the experimental macOS Tahoe and lost Wi-Fi/Ethernet, you must perform a clean downgrade to restore stability.
Downgrade Procedure:
- Use Your Existing USB: Plug in the USB drive that still has the macOS Sequoia installer.
- Boot EFI: Restart, hold Option, and select the EFI Boot from the USB drive. Then select Install macOS Sequoia.
- Wipe the Partition: In the installer, open Disk Utility. Select your main boot drive (the 1TB Crucial SSD) and click Erase. Warning: This will delete all data on the drive.
- Reinstall: Exit Disk Utility and follow the prompts to install Sequoia.
- Post-Install: Once on the Sequoia desktop, run the OCLP Post-Install Root Patches to restore full hardware acceleration.
Note: Since you have an iPad, you can use it to follow this guide while your desktop is being reinstalled.
