Resolving 'insanely slow' Performance on MBP 2015
If your 2015 MacBook Pro suddenly becomes slow and the OCLP app seems missing, it's likely because the system booted without the OpenCore EFI, or a root patch was invalidated.
Step-by-Step Fix:
- Boot via USB: Plug in your OCLP USB installer, hold Option, and select the EFI Boot from the USB. This will restore graphics acceleration immediately.
- Re-install OCLP App: If the app is gone, download it again from the official GitHub.
- Install to Internal SSD: Open OCLP and click Build and Install OpenCore, then select your internal SSD. This ensures you don't need the USB to boot.
- Re-apply Root Patches: Go to Post-Install Root Patch and install the patches. This will fix the slowness and window lag.
Original Question: "First time using opencore, worked for 2 days and now this?"
| Hey everyone. Recently found out about and tried to use opencore legacy patcher. I have a 13" early 2015 MacBook and I am starting up a small business which requires a ton of computer work. Went through all the steps for the patcher and it seemed to work fine for 2 days, now today I opened it up and got a noti saying "you shut down your computer due to a problem" and now it's insanely slow. I've tried to do the root patch fix but it doesn't seem like I have an option anymore to run the patcher? I'll try and post that in the comments. Please help LOL [link] [comments] |
