How to Fix 'Post-Install Root Patch' Errors (OCLP 2.4.1)

Recovering from a Failed OCLP Patch on MBP 2015

Don't worry, you're not 'cooked'! Getting an error during the post-install root patch is common, especially when using the 'No USB' method.

The Recovery Steps:

  1. Safe Mode: Hold Shift during boot. This disables the half-applied patches and lets you reach the desktop.
  2. Reset SIP: Open OCLP > Settings > Security. Ensure SIP is set to 'Disabled' (or 0x03). Rebuild and Install OpenCore to your internal disk.
  3. Try Again: Reboot and try applying the patches again. Most errors are caused by System Integrity Protection (SIP) being partially active.
  4. Backup: Now that you've had a scare, please make a Time Machine backup!
