Hi knowledgeable ones.
So I finally got High Sierra working on my machine and stupidly ran Migration Assistant to copy over folders fro my El Capitan disk to my new High Sierra disk.
After the migration the system needed to reboot but now the machine is stuck in a reboot loop!
There is thread that suggests it's the "Other files and folders" selection on migration assistant that copies over some nasties and which affects the boot loader on my High Sierra drive.
Now, I really really dont want to install High Sierra again (for reasons got to do with getting my GPU and such setup).
So is there a way i can "repair" what migration assistant did?
My thoughts
I was thinking of;
- Booting into recovery mode,
- Open Terminal
- Copy the EFI folder (of my working installer USB) over on to the EFI of the High Sierra drive
Would this work? Anyone know what files the Migration Assistant affects? Possibly it affects files in OSX itself (not on EFI).
My terminals skills are not great at all but i'm hoping copying from one disk to another in there is possible and not too much work!
Thanks all!
