SUCCESS! - Hackintosh with an i3-6100 and GTX 750 1GB

Hackintosh working with i3-6100, GTX 750 and 4GB RAM (HIGH SIERRA 10.13.0)

Introduction

First off, I want to tell you, that it was a long journey to get this up and running. In the beginning I was falsely using a 8GB-USB-Drive instead of a 16GB one. Never do this.

Secondly my Mainboard (H110M-DS2) was configured in a way, Hackintosh wouldn't start - Whether it was my fault, or not, after updating my BIOS to F23 seemed to help, since before it wouldn't work with my configs.

** How did I do it? **

First, I made a installation drive via UniBeast and setup my BIOS configuration according to this guide and afterwards started my installation via the -v bootflag, nothing else.

In the installation process I made sure to disable all AMD kexts, chose NULLCPUPOWERMANAGEMENT and set my NVIDIA-flags accordingly.

Success.

** POST INSTALLATION **

Post installation I booted up my Hackintosh, noticing a strange resolution I was used to playing CSGO. Oddly enough the GTX 750 is supported from the get-go, yet it wasn't fully supported and the native resolution of my monitor wasn't working. The ethernet wasn't either. To fix this I downloaded the RealtekRTL8111-V2.2.2 drivers so I can easily do all the other steps from my Mac itself, instead of using a second PC / Laptop. After that I've downloaded the NVIDIA WebDriver Updater and put in my GTX 750 1GB VGA Bios in there.

I DONT KNOW, IF THIS HELPED INSTALLING MY DRIVERS, since I've afterwards discovered, that you can also use Clover to change GPU-settings and fiddle around with that. Yet I would recommend you to install drivers before, since I somehow think it correlated to get it working on my system.

Be aware that you need to use iMac14,2 in your SMBIOS for the EVGA GTX 750 1GB to work properly. From what I've gathered it's because the iMac14,2 used an NVIDIA-card and that's why it's working. But idk for sure.

** WHATS WORKING ; WHATS NOT **

Working:

CPU GPU SLEEP / WAKE

Not Working:

Internal Audio

Workaround:

I've got an external Audio Card laying around since I'm always having stuff like that laying around. I've got my Sound Blaster Omni Surround 5.1 - Card working like a charm, only with some little bugs, which you can resolve by doing the following:

sudo kextunload /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHDA.kext sudo kextload /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHDA.kext

BE AWARE THAT ON MY SYSTEM USING ANY SOUND KEXT WAS CRASHING MY SYSTEM AND HAVING ME REINSTALL IT COMPLETELY

** So, what else? **

So, to round this up:

It's working. Working quite well, indeed. Only thing I'd love to have working would be the internal sound. Also after restoring via Time Machine I've had some worse benchmark-scores, idk yet, if this is correlated.

I highly recommend spending a bit of time with this configuration. It's working like a charm.

If you have an Audio-Fix, hit me up. I would LOVE you for this, cause I couldn't figure out how to get sound working on a H110M-DS2 without using an external soundcard.

If you have Questions, just HMU, I will try to help you as good as I can.

Have fun and thank you all for reading thus far,

greetings from Germany,
