Hey gang,
I've had my hackintosh up and running for quite some time now using Clover. Use it for writing, productivity, and running a plex server. Recently I've been wanting to add a windows partition for some occasional PC gaming
I thought this would be simple, but I've done extensive searching and reading and now I'm second guessing myself. I feel like this is simpler than everyone is making it out to be if I don't care about dual booting from clover. All I really want to do is install windows 10 to a new separate SSD that I can boot into and game on from time to time. I don't need it accessible through clover, using F12 from he Bios is fine.
Here's the question... Would the following steps work for my purposes? Anything else I should do?
- Shut down hackintosh.
- Unplug all my existing drives
- Plug in the new blank SSD and a windows install USB/DVD
- Install windows to the new drive.
- Veryify all is groovy with windows.
- Shut down again, re-connect my OSX boot drive and storage drives.
- Start back up, and veryify in my Bios settings that my default boot drive is the UEFI hackintosh boot drive.
Is that right? Am I overthinking this?
