Adding windows ssd to existing hackintosh. Am I overthinking this?

Hey gang,

I've had my hackintosh up and running for quite some time now using Clover. Use it for writing, productivity, and running a plex server. Recently I've been wanting to add a windows partition for some occasional PC gaming

I thought this would be simple, but I've done extensive searching and reading and now I'm second guessing myself. I feel like this is simpler than everyone is making it out to be if I don't care about dual booting from clover. All I really want to do is install windows 10 to a new separate SSD that I can boot into and game on from time to time. I don't need it accessible through clover, using F12 from he Bios is fine.

Here's the question... Would the following steps work for my purposes? Anything else I should do?

  1. Shut down hackintosh.
  2. Unplug all my existing drives
  3. Plug in the new blank SSD and a windows install USB/DVD
  4. Install windows to the new drive.
  5. Veryify all is groovy with windows.
  6. Shut down again, re-connect my OSX boot drive and storage drives.
  7. Start back up, and veryify in my Bios settings that my default boot drive is the UEFI hackintosh boot drive.

Is that right? Am I overthinking this?
