 | Bought this cheap Macbook Pro for at about $40 and originally have 320GB HDD and also equipped with MacOS X Catalina. However, Catalina version is too old for today's usage so I decided to give it an upgrade to MacOS Monterey. It works smoother albeit having higher CPU usage even in idle mode which had me to disable the Spotlight Indexing feature. Other than that seems fine, but this version should be probably the final update for this macbook. Also, I don't recommend people with terribly old intel-based Macbooks/iMacs to try to upgrade to most current version of MacOS. Terribly slow to use, lags too often despite hardware acceleration were enabled, longer boot times etc. [link] [comments] |
