Resolving Sequoia Installer Boot Hangs
A soft-locked screen during the macOS Sequoia installation usually indicates a failure to load the graphics driver or a conflict with the SecureBootModel setting in OpenCore.
Recommended Fixes:
- Disable SecureBootModel: In OCLP Settings > Advanced, set Secure Boot Model to 'Disabled'. Build and install OpenCore to your USB again.
- Reset NVRAM: This is crucial. Restart and hold
Cmd + Opt + P + Rfor three chimes before selecting the EFI Boot. - Verbose Mode: Enable Verbose Mode in OCLP settings. This will show you exactly where the installer hangs (e.g., at 'Waiting for Root Device').
- USB Port: If you are using a Mac Pro or iMac, try a different USB port, preferably a direct one on the motherboard, not a hub.
Original Question: "Can't boot Sequoia installer"
| Sorry for posting again, but after solving the boot picker and EFI Boot problem from previous post, after using a wired keyboard and supposedly already being on the EFI OpenCore boot picker, even after solving all that I still have the problem that when booting on "Install macOS Sequoia" the screen will pop up with the image below and be soft locked, is there a way to solve this?
