Managing Tahoe Update Notifications in Sequoia
If your MacBook Air is prompting you to update to macOS Tahoe, it's because Apple has released the public beta. However, just because it shows up doesn't mean you should install it.
The Advice:
- Stability Check: Tahoe is currently very unstable on legacy hardware. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Graphics Acceleration are frequently broken.
- OCLP Support: Ensure you are using the latest version of OCLP before even considering the update. If the app doesn't explicitly mention 'Stable Tahoe Support', do not proceed.
- Wait: For most users, we recommend waiting until 2027 when OCLP has had time to mature its Tahoe support.
