Safely Testing macOS Tahoe on External SSD

Dual-booting a stable OS (Sequoia) and an experimental one (Tahoe) is the safest way to test new OCLP features on your 2017 MacBook Pro.

Installation Guide:

  1. External SSD Setup: Use a fast USB-C or NVMe external drive. Format it as APFS.
  2. OCLP Config: Build a separate OCLP EFI for the external drive if you are using an experimental OCLP-Mod for Tahoe.
  3. Independent EFIs: Keep the internal SSD's EFI on the stable OCLP version. When booting Tahoe, select the EFI Boot from the external drive.
  4. Security: Since Tahoe is experimental, do not log into your primary iCloud account until you've verified system stability.
  5. Switching: Hold Option on boot to choose between your stable internal Sequoia and the external Tahoe.

Original Question: "Try oclp plus on MacBook Pro 2017"

Want to install macOS Tahoe on my MacBook Pro. Would install it on an external ssd and then use normal sequoia on the internal. Is that safe?
