Not really a question since I've already solved the problem, more that I'm curious if anyone else has had the same problem.
About 6 months ago I built my own hackintosh (i7-6700k, ASUS Z170 Pro, MSI GTX 970, Ballistix 16 GB Ram) and installed a Fenvi FV-T919 to handle the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi (which it did, perfectly).
Around a month ago, I ran out of SATA ports inside my computer, so I bought an IOCrest SATA III PCIe Card (Marvell 88SE9235) to give me an extra 4 ports.
Installed it, and the extra ports worked fine, but not long after, I started to have problems with my magic keyboard and trackpad. Every so often, they'd just start to lag horribly and disconnect intermittently. Eventually it got so bad i just ended up using my USB mouse and keyboard instead.
So last week, I had my computer unplugged and open anyway for a dusting and I decided to try one last thing for the bluetooth. I unplugged my Fenvi and moved it to the x1 PCIe slot above my graphics card and moved the SATA card all the way down to the bottom x16 slot (it uses x2, so won't fit in an x1 slot).
Sure enough, all of my bluetooth problems stopped. All I can figure is that the SATA card was pumping out some kind of interference. I'd already tried moving them around slots when the problems first started (although I'd never used the top x1 slot before).
Has anyone else ever had something like this? Is there a technical explanation?
