Boot to black screen with Sapphire Radeon RX 580 8G NITRO+ help please???

Hey guys, I’m feeling very confused.

I’ve made a successful install onto my system. But whenever I try to plug in my rx580 the screen stays black. If I unplug it I am able to boot successfully with IGFX

I used the Vanilla Install method to install the latest version of Mojave using the reddit and Morganaut's youtube guide. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fA9AotXqkqA&t=911s

tried in SMBIOS to fix issue:

Peripherals: Initial Display output PCIe 1 slot

Tried internal graphics both enabled and disabled. The system will only boot if the GPU is unplugged.
