Hi guys. A newbie here looking to replace my 2013 iMac with a hackintosh build similar to new 2019 iMac specs. The build is for photo/video editing and some light gaming on Windows 10. It will be my first attempt at hackintosh, so I am looking for parts that doesn't require extensive knowledge/research and work fairly straight forward.
| CPU | Intel - Core i9-9900K 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor | |
|---|---|---|
| Motherboard | Gigabyte - Z390 AORUS ULTRA ATX LGA1151 Motherboard | Based on reviews that this is one of the best overclocker |
| Memory | Kingston - HyperX Predator 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory | Same as above. |
| Storage | ADATA - XPG SX8200 Pro 512 GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive | Almost as fast as Samsung drives, but not as expensive. For Windows 10. |
| Storage | Western Digital - Blue 1 TB 2.5" Solid State Drive | For extra storage for both W10 and mOS. |
| Storage | ADATA - XPG SX8200 Pro 1 TB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive | Almost as fast as Samsung drives, but not as expensive. For macOS |
| Video Card | Asus - Radeon RX VEGA 56 8 GB AREZ STRIX Video Card |
- Any caveat about the motherboard?
- Any suggestions for the wireless/bluetooth card that will support HandOff with minimal effort?
I've seen cards on osxwifi.com but they seem rather expensive for what they are. - Any suggestions on 10GBe card that will work on both macOS and Windows? Trying to setup peer to peer between my home server.
- I chose Vega card since I've read it has best support in Mojave. But I wouldn't mind going with a RX 580 if getting it to work isn't too complicated.
Any other suggestion, feedback or tip for first time builder is appreciated. Thanks!
