To Dell XPS 15 users, 1 storage drive or 2 for dual booting?

I'm currently looking into getting a new laptop (for upgrading from my baseline 2015 MBP) and I'm really eying the XPS 15! Compatibility seems great but from my experience, dual booting from 1 drive is a nightmare unless something has changed...

I see for 2 paths I could take: - install a hard drive (slower sata 3 speeds) for windows and leave that glorious pcie ssd for macOS, but take a hit on installing a smaller battery. - upgrade the SSD to something bigger so i could partition the SSD for macOS and Windows, and not lose out on any battery life, but potential problems/complications from doing everything on one drive?

Opinions on dual booting Windows and macOS from and how smooth updating bootloaders/macOS has been from the same drive?
