How to Fix Stuttering audio

Graphics issues usually stem from an unsupported GPU, missing acceleration patches, or incorrect boot arguments.

Quick Fix Steps

  1. Verify GPU support: Check if your GPU model is natively supported in your target macOS version via WhateverGreen documentation.
  2. Update kexts: Ensure Lilu and WhateverGreen are current and loaded before other GPU-related kexts.
  3. Check boot arguments: Add -v keepsyms=1 debug=0x100 for debugging, or agdpmod=pikera for modern AMD cards.
  4. Test Metal support: Open About This Mac > System Report > Graphics and confirm Metal is listed.

Verification

  • Graphics acceleration is smooth (not CPU-bound).
  • Metal is reported in System Information.
  • No GPU-related kernel panics on boot.

Have high sierra installed using OpenCore with the nvidia web drivers. SMBIOS is set to iMac14,2. I have AppleALC kext because it says it supports Realtek ALC887.

Everything is working besides my audio being choppy. Tried alcid=1 2 and 7 and it still stutters. Is there anything I can try to fix this?
