How to Fix "macos could notbe installed on your computer"

Graphics issues usually stem from an unsupported GPU, missing acceleration patches, or incorrect boot arguments.

Quick Fix Steps

  1. Verify GPU support: Check if your GPU model is natively supported in your target macOS version via WhateverGreen documentation.
  2. Update kexts: Ensure Lilu and WhateverGreen are current and loaded before other GPU-related kexts.
  3. Check boot arguments: Add -v keepsyms=1 debug=0x100 for debugging, or agdpmod=pikera for modern AMD cards.
  4. Test Metal support: Open About This Mac > System Report > Graphics and confirm Metal is listed.

Verification

  • Graphics acceleration is smooth (not CPU-bound).
  • Metal is reported in System Information.
  • No GPU-related kernel panics on boot.

Original Question: ""macos could notbe installed on your computer""

Hi,

This is my first hackintosh and I keep getting this error.

My build is as follows :

  • CPU : 3900X
  • GPU : XFX 580
  • 2X 1TB ADATA 8200 XPG NVME SSD
  • 2X 16GB OF G.skill ram
  • MSI b550 tomohawk board

I have Windows installed on one SSD and I am trying to install macos on the second one.

I formated the drive to APFS, launched the installer and after the restart it gave me this error message. I tried rebuilding the USB but it didn't help.

I should add that I followed the guide on dortania meticulously.
