How to Fix Rx 6000 support in MacOS
Graphics issues usually stem from an unsupported GPU, missing acceleration patches, or incorrect boot arguments.
Quick Fix Steps
- Verify GPU support: Check if your GPU model is natively supported in your target macOS version via WhateverGreen documentation.
- Update kexts: Ensure Lilu and WhateverGreen are current and loaded before other GPU-related kexts.
- Check boot arguments: Add
-v keepsyms=1 debug=0x100for debugging, oragdpmod=pikerafor modern AMD cards. - Test Metal support: Open About This Mac > System Report > Graphics and confirm Metal is listed.
Verification
- Graphics acceleration is smooth (not CPU-bound).
- Metal is reported in System Information.
- No GPU-related kernel panics on boot.

Original Question: "Rx 6000 support in MacOS"
Do you guys think that apple will release Mac’s with the soon to be presented rx 6000 cards? If they’re only gonna release new Mac’s with their own apple chips from now on, would they still use amd for graphics? I know that we only can speculate about it , but what do you guys think ?
The reason why I ask is that I was thinking about getting a rx5700 , but I don’t know if I should wait?
