How to Fix "Unable to setup bless on disk." An error occurred during installation. Any help
Graphics issues usually stem from an unsupported GPU, missing acceleration patches, or incorrect boot arguments.
Quick Fix Steps
- Verify GPU support: Check if your GPU model is natively supported in your target macOS version via WhateverGreen documentation.
- Update kexts: Ensure Lilu and WhateverGreen are current and loaded before other GPU-related kexts.
- Check boot arguments: Add
-v keepsyms=1 debug=0x100for debugging, oragdpmod=pikerafor modern AMD cards. - Test Metal support: Open About This Mac > System Report > Graphics and confirm Metal is listed.
Verification
- Graphics acceleration is smooth (not CPU-bound).
- Metal is reported in System Information.
- No GPU-related kernel panics on boot.

First ever Hackintosh install(High Sierra), seemingly managed to get everything right (besides the Russian thing) up to this point. I formatted a partition of my SSD to the Apple Extended Journal thingy(sorry, forgot exactly what it's called), and chose to install it on there. Everything went smoothly, until it reached 2 mins left, and cancelled with the message "An error occurred during installation. " or something to that sort. I tried again, this time opening the log, and noticed it gets to this line: "...osinstallersetupd[639]: Unable to setup bless on disk." before it goes on to "ReportCrash" for a bunch of lines. Any help is greatly appreciated! Please pardon my ignorance and noobishness.
