How to Fix Transition from Clover to OpenCore with Pentium G4560

Graphics issues usually stem from an unsupported GPU, missing acceleration patches, or incorrect boot arguments.

Quick Fix Steps

  1. Verify GPU support: Check if your GPU is natively supported via WhateverGreen docs.
  2. Update kexts: Ensure Lilu and WhateverGreen are current.
  3. Check boot arguments: Add -v keepsyms=1 debug=0x100 for debugging, or agdpmod=pikera for AMD.
  4. Test Metal: About This Mac > System Report > Graphics.

Verification

  • Graphics acceleration is smooth.
  • Metal is reported in System Information.

Original Question: "Transition from Clover to OpenCore with Pentium G4560"

Hello everybody, I'm running a perfect Catalina Hackintosh with Pentium g4560 and RX580 with everything working perfectly (only exceptions are weird Photoshop glitches and SideCar not working because of the IGPU of Pentium)

I want to transfer everything to OpenCore while upgrading to Big Sur, but so far I've never seen anyone do it with a Kaby Lake Pentium. I've got Clover working with VirtualSMC and NullCPUPowerManagement kexts, but I'm not sure if these will work in this setup. I would be very happy if somebody has a guide for me to follow.
