How to Fix Help with iMessage

Graphics issues usually stem from an unsupported GPU, missing acceleration patches, or incorrect boot arguments.

Quick Fix Steps

  1. Verify GPU support: Check if your GPU is natively supported via WhateverGreen docs.
  2. Update kexts: Ensure Lilu and WhateverGreen are current.
  3. Check boot arguments: Add -v keepsyms=1 debug=0x100 for debugging, or agdpmod=pikera for AMD.
  4. Test Metal: About This Mac > System Report > Graphics.

Verification

  • Graphics acceleration is smooth.
  • Metal is reported in System Information.

Original Question: "Help with iMessage"

I followed the post install guide from open core, ensured my NVRAM is working which indeed it is and did everything I could but iMessage simply doesn’t work.

I can login via my Apple ID but once I input the recipient, iMessage logs me out and ask for my Apple ID again and the cycle goes on.

Here are my system specs

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 Motherboard: x570 Tomahawk GPU: RX 5600XT
