How to Fix Prohibited sign while booting installed

Graphics issues usually stem from an unsupported GPU, missing acceleration patches, or incorrect boot arguments.

Quick Fix Steps

  1. Verify GPU support: Check if your GPU is natively supported via WhateverGreen docs.
  2. Update kexts: Ensure Lilu and WhateverGreen are current.
  3. Check boot arguments: Add -v keepsyms=1 debug=0x100 for debugging, or agdpmod=pikera for AMD.
  4. Test Metal: About This Mac > System Report > Graphics.

Verification

  • Graphics acceleration is smooth.
  • Metal is reported in System Information.

Original Question: "Prohibited sign while booting installed"

Hi guys,

First time trying to install Big Sur

Parts: Cpu- i9-9900k Mobo- asrock z390 pro4 Gpu- power color red dragon rx 5700

Opencore 0.6.4 All latest Kext releases downloaded today

I’m getting this as an output while trying to boot the installer of my usb.

I can’t tell where it is getting caught up on or what the error is. Can any of you guys tell me what the issue is? Bonus points if you know the solution but I’m not even sure what to research if I can’t find the problem

Thanks in advance
