How to Fix Thinkpad X390 on OpenCore 0.6.4 running Catalina
Network issues on Hackintosh or unsupported Macs are typically caused by chipset incompatibility, incorrect kext pairing, or corrupted network preferences.
Quick Fix Steps
- Identify your network chipset: Open System Information > Wi-Fi/Bluetooth or use Hackintool.
- Use the correct kext: For Intel Wi-Fi use AirportItlwm, for Broadcom use BrcmPatchRAM, for Ethernet use IntelMausi or RealtekRTL8111.
- Reset network preferences: Delete /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.airport.preferences.plist and reboot.
- Check privacy settings: System Settings > Privacy > Location Services must be enabled.
Verification
- Wi-Fi connects after reboot.
- Bluetooth pairs and stays connected.
- Location Services works in Maps.

CPU: Intel i5-8265U (SOC) GPU: Intel UHD Graphics 620 (iGPU) RAM: 16GB Motherboard/Laptop Make and Model: Lenovo X390 (13.3" 1920x1080) Audio Codec: Realtek ALC257 (layout-id 11) Ethernet Card: Intel i219V Wifi/BT Card: Intel AC9560 (through Itlwm.kext and HeliPort app), IntelBluetoothInjector Touchpad and touch display devices: ELANBIOS revision: 1.67 (2020-06-04) OpenCore 0.6.4 on macOS 10.15.7 Catalina I used Olarila Intel chipset 300-400 series desktop as boot USB (strangely the 300 series notebook template doesn't boot). Then manually tweak the config.plist and remove Oralia ACPI AML by other Thinkpad specific ACPI AML. Wi-fi works outside Apple Airport native support so only simple wireless network connection can be made, and the throughput is very bad (only 50Mbps up/down stream no matter 2.4GHz or 5GHz). Bluetooth can be used to connect to Logitech mouse, but strangely the MX Anywhere 2 cannot be connected. Older Logitech M555b BT mouse connects and works without problem. NEED HELP:
Connected to a USB-C hub with video output (HDMI), it has no problem to detect and output on second monitor. Looks like the info / tutorial of X390 ACPI tuning on OpenCore is quite limited on the net, any suggestion is highly appreciated. 🙇🏻♂️ [link] [comments] |
