How to Fix EFI Partition Missing?

This mini-guide provides a structural approach to troubleshoot and fix the issue.

Prerequisites

  • Confirm your hardware specifications (CPU, GPU, Motherboard).
  • Ensure you have a bootable recovery USB and backup your EFI.

Fix Steps

  1. Boot with -v keepsyms=1 debug=0x100 to identify the exact kernel panic.
  2. Validate your config.plist using ocvalidate.
  3. Ensure your EFI matches the Dortania guide specifications for your CPU generation.

Verification

  • Reboot and verify if the functionality is restored and stable under typical usage.

Original Question:

EFI Partition Missing?

To try to get iMessage/Facetime working I need to access the config.plist folder in the EFI partition, but I'm unable to mount it using OpenCore/Clover Configurator, nor can I mount it using Terminal. The EFI partition doesn't show up when I list the disks:

A last resort would be to reinstall macOS, but I don't want to have to go that far. Does anyone have any answers?
