How to Fix [HELP] Macrecovery.py doesn’t work!

This mini-guide provides a structural approach to troubleshoot and fix the issue.

Prerequisites

  • Confirm your hardware specifications (CPU, GPU, Motherboard).
  • Ensure you have a bootable recovery USB and backup your EFI.

Fix Steps

  1. Boot with -v keepsyms=1 debug=0x100 to identify the exact kernel panic.
  2. Validate your config.plist using ocvalidate.
  3. Ensure your EFI matches the Dortania guide specifications for your CPU generation.

Verification

  • Reboot and verify if the functionality is restored and stable under typical usage.

Original Question:

Hi there, I’m trying to build a Opencore 0.6.5 Catalina installer via the Macrecovery.py script on Windows 10 64 and i get two results:

First result

It downloads the BaseSystem.dmg for a little bit the. hangs indefinitely (the closest I’ve gotten to 127mb)

Second result

“The connection was forcibly terminated by the remote host” (or something to that effect)

It would sound as if Apple is cracking down, but i posted hear to see if you guys had a similar experience or possibly had workarounds.

As of now what are my options? Anything helps, thanks in advance guys!
