How to Fix How do I connect to an internet connection in recovery mode?
This mini-guide provides a structural approach to troubleshoot and fix the issue.
Prerequisites
- Confirm your hardware specifications (CPU, GPU, Motherboard).
- Ensure you have a bootable recovery USB and backup your EFI.
Fix Steps
- Verify your network controller model (Intel, Broadcom, Realtek).
- Ensure the correct kext (e.g., AirportItlwm or BrcmPatchRAM) is loaded in your config.
- Clear network interfaces and reset NVRAM if changes don't apply.
Verification
- Reboot and verify if the functionality is restored and stable under typical usage.
Original Question:
I'm trying to hackintosh into high sierra and have gotten to the recovery mode screen using Open Core. I downloaded and installed all of the necessary drivers (my mouse, nvidia gpu, and keyboard work) but there's no network connection. Is there a server or website that I can rip a vanilla time machine save off of or a way to connect to the internet using the terminal. I have both a wifi chip and a ethernet cable and they both don't seem to work. It worked fine when I was using windows. What should I do?
