How to Fix MSI MEG Unify Z490i screen goes black right after gIOLockState message

Original Question:
- MSI Z490i with iGPU HDMI out (also tried DP).
- i9-10850K CPU
- Had a GTX1070 installed for Windows and disabled in OpenCore boot args but I finally just removed it
- BIOS at default with IGX set and DMT (sets a bunch of things to make OpenCore boot easier apparently) enabled
- Using iMac20,2 profile
OpenCore does appear to run for a while but then it gives gIOLockState error and the 1080p display goes black. Seems like it's still doing stuff because I can't power it down immediately. Suspect video is not working but everything else is. I read somewhere that it might be switching to DP but that does the same. I've done a bunch of work (hours) double checking the config.plist, flipping things here and there and making sure my device id is correct (using Intel info).
Only thing I can think of is that the issue is using iMac20,2 with just iGPU. Possible that having platform to iMac20,2 (as recommended) is an issue because it expects a dGPU? And because processor is so new, I assume I can't go mini or something. Is there something I can try here?
