Original Question:

Successfull install macOS Big Sur on Asus Vivobook 15 X512FJ - Opencore 0.6.5

I finally managed to install macOS on my laptop after so much work! I'm on macOS Big Sur 11.1 using OpenCore 0.6.5.

Working perfect:

  • Integrated Graphics Card - Intel UHD Graphics 620
  • Function keys like Sound, Brightness and other
  • Trackpad - Elan 1200
  • USB Function
  • Battery Management
  • Sound/Camera microphone/Audio jack - ALC256
  • HDMI video and sound
  • Sleep/Wake

Working Partially:

  • Bluetooth On/off - Due to the incompatible Wi-Fi/Bluetooth adapter (QCA9377) is not possible to turn the bluetooth off. But, is still usable
  • Trackpad on/off - I tried to remap it using que VoodooPS2 features, and I modified the kext to swap features between F6 and Prt Sc key (Which is the default key to disable trackpad into VoodooPS2 project). I don't recommend for you to use this funcion, unless you really need it.

Not Working:

  • UVC Webcam - I tried a lot to get this webcam working, but I have no sucess. Usb mapping, kext to activate... I think this webcam model is not compatible with hackintosh, so I'm going to stop trying to find a solution, for now.
  • Wi-fi chipset - As I said, this Wi-fi model is not compatible with hackintosh at all, so im using a TP-Link TL-WN725N with Chris1111's project.
  • Dedicated GPU (Nvidia MX230) - This gpu generation is not compatible with Hackintosh. You will need to disable it with SSDT, Video patch or boot arg (-wegnoegpu)

I am satisfied with the result of the hackintosh, and I think it can become even better with time. It was a long way to get where it is today, but it is really good ;)
