How to Fix Updated to 0.6.6 successfully, though now my OpenCanopy GUI disappeared!
This mini-guide provides a structural approach to troubleshoot and fix the issue.
Prerequisites
- Confirm your hardware specifications (CPU, GPU, Motherboard).
- Ensure you have a bootable recovery USB and backup your EFI.
Fix Steps
- Boot with
-v keepsyms=1 debug=0x100to identify the exact kernel panic. - Validate your config.plist using ocvalidate.
- Ensure your EFI matches the Dortania guide specifications for your CPU generation.
Verification
- Reboot and verify if the functionality is restored and stable under typical usage.
Original Question:
Did the following steps:
- Update as usual
- Checked the bootstrap 0.6.6 update guide
- Copied everything from the 0.6.6 Resources folder to my EFI partition just in case there was something new
- Checked my Misc -> boot settings:
- PickerMode: External
- PickerAttributes: 17
- PickerVariant: Modern
No luck so far. Everytime I boot, it shows me the classic text boot picker.
