How to Fix Big Sur Acer E5-771G Almost Perfect Edition. Need help with FileVault though

This mini-guide provides a structural approach to troubleshoot and fix the issue.

Prerequisites

  • Confirm your hardware specifications (CPU, GPU, Motherboard).
  • Ensure you have a bootable recovery USB and backup your EFI.

Fix Steps

  1. Boot with -v keepsyms=1 debug=0x100 to identify the exact kernel panic.
  2. Validate your config.plist using ocvalidate.
  3. Ensure your EFI matches the Dortania guide specifications for your CPU generation.

Verification

  • Reboot and verify if the functionality is restored and stable under typical usage.

My EFI's on Github but I do have a weird issue with FileVault - it doesn't do anything at all

Has anyone ever seen anything like it? I didn't test it on a fresh install so that might be my next course of action but I did create a secondary admin account and I'm using a standard account as my day to day. Maybe that's what causes the issue? Both accounts return a valid Secure Token. My Admin account's folder is in /var though

Any help would be appreciated
