How to Fix Can I run it?

This mini-guide provides a structural approach to troubleshoot and fix the issue.

Prerequisites

  • Confirm your hardware specifications (CPU, GPU, Motherboard).
  • Ensure you have a bootable recovery USB and backup your EFI.

Fix Steps

  1. Boot with -v keepsyms=1 debug=0x100 to identify the exact kernel panic.
  2. Validate your config.plist using ocvalidate.
  3. Ensure your EFI matches the Dortania guide specifications for your CPU generation.

Verification

  • Reboot and verify if the functionality is restored and stable under typical usage.

Original Question:

Hey guys, so I really want to install the Hackintosh into my notebook, the thing is... it’s a bit of a trash pc. The model is a HP 240 G5 with 120gb ssd, intel i3 5005U 1.900Hgz and 4 gb of ram (i’m going to upgraded it up to 12gb in the few days). I’ve read that some hardware broke up on the installation and i don’t know if it is true or not, but i want to know if my pc is up to it. I will be using it as my only OS installed in the ssd, not as a dual boot or anything, and my main use of the pc is for Software Development. Is it up for the challenge? Or should I stay on Linux?
