How to Fix Can't boot OpenCore Installer on HP Laptop.

This mini-guide provides a structural approach to troubleshoot and fix the issue.

Prerequisites

  • Confirm your hardware specifications (CPU, GPU, Motherboard).
  • Ensure you have a bootable recovery USB and backup your EFI.

Fix Steps

  1. Boot with -v keepsyms=1 debug=0x100 to identify the exact kernel panic.
  2. Validate your config.plist using ocvalidate.
  3. Ensure your EFI matches the Dortania guide specifications for your CPU generation.

Verification

  • Reboot and verify if the functionality is restored and stable under typical usage.

Original Question:

Hi :) I've been trying to hack my first hackintosh for years without ever getting great results though.I recently bought a new HP Notebook - 15-dw1067nl (Spec here https://support.hp.com/it-it/document/c06679256).

I tried to follow the opencover guide using the preconfigured DSDT files for the CometLake cpu, however when I try to start the installation I am stuck at this screen:

Here is my com.apple.recovery.boot and my EFI folder. I also tried to check the health of my config.plist file with https://opencore.slowgeek.com/ but no errors are reported.

Can any kind soul give me a few minutes please? (Don't be too specific, I'm not a developer pls)
