How to Fix Case vs motherboard fan question

This mini-guide provides a structural approach to troubleshoot and fix the issue.

Prerequisites

  • Confirm your hardware specifications (CPU, GPU, Motherboard).
  • Ensure you have a bootable recovery USB and backup your EFI.

Fix Steps

  1. Review your system logs and verbose boot output for specific error codes.
  2. Ensure your OpenCore and kexts are up to date.
  3. Compare your configuration with the official Dortania guidelines.

Verification

  • Reboot and verify if the functionality is restored and stable under typical usage.

Original Question:

Hopefully a quick question regarding where to plug in case fans. Info on the case and fan are below. The case has a fan splitter for cable management, but they say it works with the CPU_fan, as the others may cause problems due to not being true pwm.

If I go into my bios and set one of my 4 sys_fan connector to pwm, can I run the case splitter off of that sys_fan connector?

Thanks for the insights!
