How to Fix ACPI Power State boot error

This mini-guide provides a structural approach to troubleshoot and fix the issue.

Prerequisites

  • Confirm your hardware specifications (CPU, GPU, Motherboard).
  • Ensure you have a bootable recovery USB and backup your EFI.

Fix Steps

  1. Boot with -v keepsyms=1 debug=0x100 to identify the exact kernel panic.
  2. Validate your config.plist using ocvalidate.
  3. Ensure your EFI matches the Dortania guide specifications for your CPU generation.

Verification

  • Reboot and verify if the functionality is restored and stable under typical usage.

Original Question:

I am trying to make my move from macOS 11.0.1 to 11.3.1 and Opencore 0.6.3 to 0.6.9. I have updated my Opencore but when I boot I get an error saying: ACPI Power State S3, S4, S5, and then pc reboots automatically. I've kept my old config.plist and with the old one it boots but with the new one from Dortania's guide I get the error.
