This mini-guide provides a structural approach to troubleshoot and fix the issue.

- Ensure you have a bootable recovery USB and backup your EFI.
Fix Steps
- Check if your GPU requires WhateverGreen or specific boot-args (e.g., agdpmod=pikera).
- Ensure Metal acceleration is fully supported for your macOS version.
- Update Lilu and WhateverGreen to the latest versions.
Verification
- Reboot and verify if the functionality is restored and stable under typical usage.
Original Question:
So i searched a bit and found no clear statement for this question. But it is so simple:
Do i have to use Whatevergreen (+agdpmod=pikera) for the best Radeon RX5700 and 5700xt experience or do i just run it natively without any .kext?
I think this information is very important and there is no clear answer to this question. I tried both and for my setup it just seems to make no difference if i use Whatevergreen or not. With WAG i have to use agdpmod=pikera otherwise it boots to a blackscreen. But i would love to use the card without because i want to load as less .kext as possible.
So what is best practice for Big Sour?
