How to Fix Airplay display Big Sur Opencore not working

This mini-guide provides a structural approach to troubleshoot and fix the issue.

Prerequisites

  • Confirm your hardware specifications (CPU, GPU, Motherboard).
  • Ensure you have a bootable recovery USB and backup your EFI.

Fix Steps

  1. Verify your network controller model (Intel, Broadcom, Realtek).
  2. Ensure the correct kext (e.g., AirportItlwm or BrcmPatchRAM) is loaded in your config.
  3. Clear network interfaces and reset NVRAM if changes don't apply.

Verification

  • Reboot and verify if the functionality is restored and stable under typical usage.

Original Question:

Im trying to get airplay mirroring working on my Hackintosh so far no luck.

Setup:

macOS: 11.4

CPU: Sandy Bridge i7-2600k

GPU: NVIDIA GT-710 2GB

RAM: 8gb DDR3

Motherboard: MSI P67A-GD65 (B3)

Ethernet: Realtek 8111E

WIFI/BT: Fenvi T919 BCM94360C

I already have airdrop and continuity working.

I tried enabling the iGPU this did not fix airplay mirroring.

In Hackintool it shows VDA Decoder: Decoder failed, not sure if this is relevant.

Any help is appreciated.
