How to Fix Alpine-Ridge Thunderbolt not working on cold boot
This mini-guide provides a structural approach to troubleshoot and fix the issue.
Prerequisites
- Confirm your hardware specifications (CPU, GPU, Motherboard).
- Ensure you have a bootable recovery USB and backup your EFI.
Fix Steps
- Boot with
-v keepsyms=1 debug=0x100to identify the exact kernel panic. - Validate your config.plist using ocvalidate.
- Ensure your EFI matches the Dortania guide specifications for your CPU generation.
Verification
- Reboot and verify if the functionality is restored and stable under typical usage.
Original Question:
Hi,
I've flashed my Alpine-Ridge (v2) a few days ago. Since then, it has been working great only after a restart of macOS, because the card doesn't work on a cold boot (my UAD interface is always connected to the machine). I'm on Catalina 10.15.7 (Asus TUF-GAMING Z490)
I've tried some SSDTs but the one from HackinDROM doesn't change anything (it behave the same as there is no SSDT), and another one I found creates a kernel panic on cold boot.
Do you have any solution, please? Thanks!
