How to Fix Monterey Intel Bluetooth Boot Issues

This mini-guide provides a structural approach to troubleshoot and fix the issue.

Prerequisites

  • Confirm your hardware specifications (CPU, GPU, Motherboard).
  • Ensure you have a bootable recovery USB and backup your EFI.

Fix Steps

  1. Verify your network controller model (Intel, Broadcom, Realtek).
  2. Ensure the correct kext (e.g., AirportItlwm or BrcmPatchRAM) is loaded in your config.
  3. Clear network interfaces and reset NVRAM if changes don't apply.

Verification

  • Reboot and verify if the functionality is restored and stable under typical usage.

Original Question:

In order to upgrade to Monterey, I updated to OC 0.7.1, updated everything as always, and switched to Airportitlwm v2.0.0 for WiFi and IntelBluetoothFirmware + BlueToolFixup for Bluetooth. The only problem is that while booting up it hangs in a random spot near “IntelFirmware” for about 30 seconds, then continues booting. Please let me know if I should send a picture or my specific hardware or if this is a generic issue that isn’t difficult to solve.
