How to Fix Valid Purchase Date

This mini-guide provides a structural approach to troubleshoot and fix the issue.

Prerequisites

  • Confirm your hardware specifications (CPU, GPU, Motherboard).
  • Ensure you have a bootable recovery USB and backup your EFI.

Fix Steps

  1. Review your system logs and verbose boot output for specific error codes.
  2. Ensure your OpenCore and kexts are up to date.
  3. Compare your configuration with the official Dortania guidelines.

Verification

  • Reboot and verify if the functionality is restored and stable under typical usage.

Original Question:

So, either a massive coincidence, or something strange is going on..

After putting in a serial that I ensured said ‘Serial Number not valid’ on the coverage checker, I have checked a few days later and it is now saying it has a valid purchase date. Unless a mac has come out of thin air and sold in the last few days, I’m assuming mine has been marked as a valid purchase due to contacting Apple servers or whatever.

Is this a good thing?
