How to Fix PCIe USB card issues

This mini-guide provides a structural approach to troubleshoot and fix the issue.

Prerequisites

  • Confirm your hardware specifications (CPU, GPU, Motherboard).
  • Ensure you have a bootable recovery USB and backup your EFI.

Fix Steps

  1. Check if your GPU requires WhateverGreen or specific boot-args (e.g., agdpmod=pikera).
  2. Ensure Metal acceleration is fully supported for your macOS version.
  3. Update Lilu and WhateverGreen to the latest versions.

Verification

  • Reboot and verify if the functionality is restored and stable under typical usage.

Original Question:

Hi everyone I have a problem with a USB card.

I use the addition to the USB of on my motherboard another USB PCie card

And I have a problem while shutting down and sleeping. If something is connected to this card and I try to go into sleep mode then after a few seconds it wakes up and when I turn off the computer then it shuts down and then after a few seconds it turns on again.

Besides everything is fine, everything works for me and works really well only this problem I currently have, and I really want to use this USB card in MacOS.

It does work and detects USB 3 and USB 2 without issue.

In System Report this is the information about it:

Host Controller Driver: AppleUSBXHCIPCI

PCI Device ID: 0x3483

PCI Revision ID: 0x0001

PCI Vendor ID: 0x1106

I have Kext for USB mapping (I took from my friend who has the same motherboard)

CPU: i5 7600k

Motherboard: GA-Z270X-Ultra-Gaming

RAM: 16GB

GPU: GT710 + iGPU

If you need more information that I did not mention here I will add just say what is needed.

Thanks in advance.
