This mini-guide provides a structural approach to troubleshoot and fix the issue.
Prerequisites
- Confirm your hardware specifications (CPU, GPU, Motherboard).
- Ensure you have a bootable recovery USB and backup your EFI.
Fix Steps
- Check if your GPU requires WhateverGreen or specific boot-args (e.g., agdpmod=pikera).
- Ensure Metal acceleration is fully supported for your macOS version.
- Update Lilu and WhateverGreen to the latest versions.
Verification
- Reboot and verify if the functionality is restored and stable under typical usage.
Original Question:
Hello guys,
So I have tried (for a very long time!) to get macOS working on my system. To no avail. :(
I tried everything. OpenCore, Clover.
Opencore just hangs at some verbose line and doesn't complete it. If I turn off verbose it doesn't really do much
Clover, on the other hand, boots, and I got it midway through the installer but it just kernel panics during the installer. I know that because when I reboot after that it says "This system was rebooted automatically after a panic".
Specs are:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3500U (yes it's a laptop but for some reason graphics were working fine and normal in macOS installer in Clover)
GPU: The normal integrated one (AMD Raedeon vega 8)
RAM: 2 x 4GB Hynix RAM (don't know exact model)
SSD: Samsung MZVLB512HBJQ-00000 512GB NVMe SSD
System type: UEFI
BIOS: InsydeH20
Motherboard: I don't know but the laptop is Huawei MateBook D 14
Any help would be much appreciated.
