Original Question:
Running open core and found a solution plaguing my mini when plugging into televisions. Sometimes when using a 4k or 1080p television the mini startup screen does not show at all - the screen is blank. Initially, I assumed there was a problem with my install with open core - on a hunch I wondered if my older mini was just having issues with the resolution on the televisions (I have had no issue with the mini using open core on a projector) so I unplugged the hdmi on startup and after a couple minutes I plugged in the hdmi and for whatever reason I have a startup screen. I have repeated this method and have been able to bypass the blank screen on startup - I have yet to try a regular monitor to see if this is an issue. Anyway, sharing if anyone out there is using a 2011 mini (Intel HD Graphics 512 mb)
