| | I recently updated two older Macs (2013 Macbook Air, 2014 Mac Mini) to Sonoma and Sequoia. Everything so far has been great, but I ran into one problem yesterday on BOTH machines. Open Photos, then open an image of a person that has been designated 'Portrait'. Choose 'Edit' - a whole set of 'edit' options appear down the right side, including 'Light', 'Color', 'Retouch', etc. Also appearing is 'portrait'/'depth', which is only present for 'portrait' mode images. If I choose the 'depth' option, I immediately get the error 'Cannot Start Editing'; 'Photos cannot load edits. Please try again later'. On trying to close that one image, I get 'Unable to save changes', 'An error occurred while saving. Please try again later'. I don't get this error with any 'non-portrait' image, or even with a 'portrait' image if I use the ordinary edits (non-portrait). I searched around (and read the OCLP documentation, known issues section), and there's a few (unresolved) reports of this but there's also a suggestion that it is related to 'non-metal' Macs. To the best of my understanding, my two Macs are 'metal'. Is this a known issue, and/or, is there a remedy? [link] [comments] |
