OS Help. I bricked my 2012 MacBook Pro (well not quite).

Stupidly updated well beyond it's capabilities and made the rookie mistake of updating to the latest and then couldn't login or connect to WiFi. I know, I know, what an idiot, the OCP isn't supporting the latest OS yet etc.

Anyway, I wiped the SSD and ran internet recovery on the laptop and loaded up the factory Mountain Lion OS X.

Now...... I want to run this laptop with OPC patcher UpTo Catalina and also run Windows 10 or 11 on a partition via bootcamp.

Hers is the dilemma.

I cannot update from M'Lion to Catalina directly, as need 10.9 minimum which I believe to be Mavericks. For the life of me I cannot find a Mavericks DMG or full installer. App store doesn't have it anymore and I can't access it on the old M'Lion OS anyway. Terminal command of updating doesn't work either. I found a version of Mavericks but it started it has possibly been tampered with / not supported.

I tried Internet Archive and then received a message staying that the installer file was damaged/corrupt.

I installed Windows 11 and then I rent into the drivers issue for keyboard and audio.

I've spent about 3 days on this nightmare and am close to giving up of learning Linux.

My last attempt is to ask if anyone has a clean and official DMG copy/full installer of Mavericks, of am I missing something?

Thank you 👍 😊
