Safe macOS Update Procedure for OCLP Users
Accidentally clicking 'Update' in System Settings can brick a patched Mac if OpenCore is not updated first to support the new macOS build.
Safe Update Steps:
- Update OCLP App First: Always download and install the latest release of OCLP from GitHub before updating the OS.
- Build OpenCore to Disk: Click Build and Install OpenCore and install it to your internal drive EFI partition.
- Apply OS Update: Go to System Settings and install the update. Re-apply root patches immediately after boot.
Original Question: "Are current and future minor updates supported by OCLP 2.4.1?"
As per title I wonder if current minor update for Sonoma 14.8.5 and future ones are supported by OCLP 2.4.1
I am currently on 14.8.4 on a macbook air 11 2015 and 14.8.3 on macpro 6.1, can i install the latest update or is better to wait a newer OCLP version?
Many thanks!
