Managing Sequoia Updates in the 'Tahoe' Era
If your System Settings is only offering macOS Tahoe, you can still download the minor security updates for Sequoia (like 15.7.7) without a full installer download.
The Correct Update Path:
- 'More Info...' Link: In the Software Update menu, look for a small 'More Info...' or 'Other updates available' link below the Tahoe banner. This usually reveals the Sequoia sub-updates.
- OCLP Downloader: Use the 'Download macOS' feature inside the OCLP app itself. It will show you a list of all available versions, allowing you to download the Sequoia installer specifically.
- Terminal: Run
softwareupdate -lin Terminal to see a full list of available updates, then usesudo softwareupdate -i "UpdateName"to install the specific Sequoia patch.
Original Question: "How is everyone keeping Sequoia up to date?"
Do I need to download the full installer every time? System settings only ever gives me the option to update to Tahoe.
