Resolving Networking Glitches in OCLP Sonoma
If your 2016 MacBook Pro connects to Wi-Fi but has no internet access in macOS Sonoma, it's a DNS or routing conflict with the legacy drivers.
Fixes to Try:
- Forget and Reconnect: Remove the Wi-Fi network from System Settings and add it again.
- Custom DNS: In Wi-Fi settings > Details > DNS, add
8.8.8.8and1.1.1.1. This often bypasses routing issues. - Modern Wireless Patches: Ensure you are using OCLP 2.4.1 and have applied the root patches. The 2016 MBP uses a specific Broadcom chip that needs the latest patches for Sonoma.
- Toggle IPv6: Set IPv6 to 'Link-local only' in the Wi-Fi TCP/IP settings.
