How to Fix 'Connected but No Internet' Wi-Fi on MBP 2016

Resolving Networking Glitches in OCLP Sonoma

If your 2016 MacBook Pro connects to Wi-Fi but has no internet access in macOS Sonoma, it's a DNS or routing conflict with the legacy drivers.

Fixes to Try:

  1. Forget and Reconnect: Remove the Wi-Fi network from System Settings and add it again.
  2. Custom DNS: In Wi-Fi settings > Details > DNS, add 8.8.8.8 and 1.1.1.1. This often bypasses routing issues.
  3. Modern Wireless Patches: Ensure you are using OCLP 2.4.1 and have applied the root patches. The 2016 MBP uses a specific Broadcom chip that needs the latest patches for Sonoma.
  4. Toggle IPv6: Set IPv6 to 'Link-local only' in the Wi-Fi TCP/IP settings.

Mb pro 2016 WiFi issues on Sonoma

Hi guys new to posting but kinda new to open core, I got it working in Monterey with a 09 iMac, but recently I got a MacBook Pro 13” with the last supported os a Monterey, I upgraded to Sonoma with minor issues (open core couldn’t find installers so I made a bootable installer from Mr Macintosh’s site) but after install everything but WiFi works fine.
It shows int “connected” but no internet, I tryed reinstalling root patching a few times and it didn’t fix it, I tryed restarting the router and it didn’t work either, I can use a personal hotspot but I can’t have overcharges on my phone bills using for using my hotspot for schoolwork/watching tv, my WiFi connection on everything else is perfect but the MacBook won’t connect to anything but my hotspot, is there something I’m missing to fix this issue? Or do I have to downgrade to Monterey?

Open core - 2.4.1
macOS- Sonoma 14.8.7
Model -MacBook Pro 2016 13”
-no touchbar
