How to Recover a 'Broken' OCLP Update on MacBook Mid 2014

Don't Panic: Your Photos are Safe

If you updated your 2014 MacBook and now the screen is tiny and you can't log in, it simply means the Graphics Acceleration Patches were removed during the update. Your data is still there.

The Recovery Process:

  1. Safe Mode Login: Try booting into Safe Mode (hold Shift during startup). This disables the broken graphics drivers and might allow you to log in with a basic UI.
  2. Re-apply Patches: Once logged in, open the OCLP app. Click Post-Install Root Patch and install the patches. Reboot.
  3. Use a USB Hub: If your keyboard/mouse isn't working, plug in a wired USB mouse to navigate the OCLP app.
  4. The 'EFI Boot' Trick: If you can't even get to the login screen, plug in the OCLP USB installer you (or your tech guy) used. Hold Option, select EFI Boot, and then your hard drive. This often restores enough functionality to fix the system.

Original Question: "Open Core Legacy updated"

Open Core Legacy updated

Hey guys!

Sorry for this question, but i’m scared i fucked up.
So i have a MacBook from mid 2014 and someone installed Open Core Legacy on it to run a newer version of the os.
Today i had the great idea to update it ( the most stupid idea i ever had ) i have stored all my Icloud photos on this MacBook ( on the drive ) and now my screen is super small and i can’t even login to my account… i feel so bad and stupid to be honest, this is the first time i ever saw or heard about this OCL.
I tried googling to see if there is a way to revert or to get into the ocl menu, but i can’t seem to get it working, my question was: is there a way to fix it or revert it? Are my photos gone and did i fuck up?

Thanks in advance for helping a noob in ocl, i appreciate it a lot!
