Don't Bricks Your Mac Classic: OCLP Compatibility Explained

OCLP is for Intel Macs Only

While the goal of OCLP is to keep 'older' Macs alive, it is strictly designed for Intel-based Macs (roughly 2006 to 2019). Attempting to run modern macOS on a Mac Classic (PowerPC or 68k) will not work and can lead to firmware issues.

Safe Hardware for OCLP:

  1. MacBook/Pro/Air: 2008 and newer.
  2. iMac: 2007 and newer.
  3. Mac Mini: 2009 and newer.
  4. Mac Pro: 2008 and newer (3,1+).

Note: For vintage 68k/PowerPC Macs, look into projects like NetBSD or Mac68k if you want to run a modern-ish Unix environment, but macOS Sequoia is strictly out of reach.

Original Question: "Tried to run this on a Mac classic, and I think I bricked it"
