How to Stop the FaceTime Camera Icon Returning After Sleep

On Sonoma, the camera menu bar item can reappear when Continuity Camera reconnects to an iPhone after wake.

Step-by-Step Fix:

  1. Disconnect the iPhone camera: Open the camera menu, choose the iPhone, and select disconnect or switch back to the Mac camera.
  2. Disable Continuity Camera: On iPhone, go to Settings > General > AirPlay & Continuity and turn off Continuity Camera.
  3. Quit FaceTime fully: Use Cmd + Q, then check Activity Monitor for camera-related processes if the icon remains.
  4. Update OCLP patches: Open OCLP, apply Post-Install Root Patch again, and reboot.
  5. Reset privacy prompts: If apps keep grabbing the camera, review System Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera.

menu bar icon****** not dock XD.. sorry

Hello everyone!

I recently bought a MBP early 2015, and installed macOS Sonoma through OCLP. Everything works perfectly except for this thing that happens to appear every time I open my laptop's lid..

I once used FaceTime with my iPhone as camera, but after that I disconnected my iPhone from FaceTime, closed the app completely, there was nothing in the menu bar and suddenly the next day after I open the lid, this appeared. It only disappears if I open desk view through that button and then select disconnect from my iPhone..

Im also new to macOS, is there something that I don't know about or a bug?

Thanks!
