How to Fix Root Patch Failure After macOS Tahoe Update Prompt on OCLP
If your OCLP-patched Mac shows a "Failed sanity checks, cannot continue with patching" error and you have lost your wallpaper or graphics acceleration, a pending macOS Tahoe update has broken the root patches.
Step-by-Step Fix:
- Remove the pending update: Open Terminal and run:
sudo softwareupdate --ignore "macOS Tahoe"
Then delete the downloaded installer:sudo rm -rf "/Applications/Install macOS Tahoe.app" - Clear the update cache: Run:

 | I always had "Install MacOS updates" off, and then I got the restart to install "Tahoe" message, I had to turn "Install MacOS updates" off again...I tried to open the Pixelmator app so I can circle and point to the part of the picture I wanted to highlight, but got a "Pixelmator cannot run w/o access to the graphics processor" message so I tried to repatch roots and got the "Failed sanity checks, cannot continue w/ patching!!" and "Please ensure that you do not have any updates pending"...This explains why I lost my wallpaper suddenly, I don't want to update to Tahoe because you warned us not to, yet I got this, any assistance would be appreciated...
